Our store is staffed by professional consultants, whose experience and dedication ensure a smooth, fun purchasing experience from start to finish. We want you to think of your consultant as your friend who you can trust to create just the right atmosphere for buying a wedding gown.

At Ellie's, we believe that being free to touch and browse our lines allows for the optimum bridal shopping experience. Our gowns aren't hidden away from you, and you have full control of your appointment with the full help, support, and guidance of your consultant. We don't treat you like a bride, we treat you like our own friends and family.

Additionally, we advertise using real Ellie’s brides, rather than models (with the exception of our designers' pages), as much as possible so you will never feel short of real wedding inspiration and references to great photographers and vendors. Not to mention the fact that our brides are the best and most beautiful. Can you blame us for wanting to show them off?

Ellie was lucky enough to have a mother whose best friend happened to be the owner of one of the most renowned bridal salons in Seoul, South Korea. Thus, Ellie has been immersed in the bridal world for much of her life. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Fashion & Design, she was immediately hired as a bridal designer and consultant at the salon. She designed there until moving to the DC area where she continued to immerse herself in bridal, even if that meant vacuuming part time in a local bridal shop.

Since moving to the DC-area, Ellie has been completely enamored with Old Town – in particular, with the grandiose windows of 225 N. Washington Street. This is where her dream bridal shop would be. In 1996, the timing was right and the most amazing opportunity presented itself: a sign proclaiming FOR LEASE right over those big, arching windows Ellie was so in love with. The rest, as they say, is history...
